Frequently asked questions.
How long will it take for me to get my photos?
For photoshoot sessions, proofs are typically delivered in 24-48 hours from completion of the session.
If you had an event or wedding where we established there will be edited images included, you will receive your proofing gallery up to 3 days from the date of the shoot.
When you receive your proofing album, you will then pick the agreed amount of photos for me to edit. From the time you pick your images, it will take me up to 2 weeks from that day you complete your selection for me to edit your photos and get them back to you. For weddings and events, it will take me up to 30 days to get any edited images back to you.
I love your work! But can I change this around?
This is a tricky one. Art is subjective and I respect everyone’s opinion. I spend anywhere from 15-60 minutes on photo editing on software that I purchased. I look at every mega pixel in the image and adjust accordingly. Every artist has a style and it is important to be aware of that. In some ways, you are trying to change the art and style of the photographer.
This is not to be confused with actual discrepancies when getting your final images such as objects misaligned, skin tone incorrect, etc. Communicate with me if you do want to make any adjustments to a final image. I do want to make sure you are 100% happy, as well as, representing who I am as an artist.
Is there any belief or custom you do not photograph?
I am comfortable to photograph all religions and beliefs. Jewish/Christian/Gay/Indian/Non-religious etc. I feel it would be a great opportunity to broaden my horizons and gain insight into different traditions that I did not have the pleasure to grow up around.
Do you do Videography as well?
Yes! I have experience in promo videos for businesses and conducting short film projects. Videography is something I would mention when booking so we can address pricing.
I’m worried my kids may not cooperate. They don’t take pictures well. What would you do differently than another photographer to get “the shot”?
Kids are fun and energetic! Kids are always on a mission. I embrace it! I have 2 boys that I birthed and 2 step kids. I know that children may not always be up for the challenge to take photos. I always give every ounce of effort to “get the shot”. Kids have always felt comfortable around me and I have encountered many kids that do not like photos, but work with me.
I usually give the first 15 minutes of the shoot to get to know them and gain trust. I do not push a child to do anything they do not want to do. But use the act of play to have them carefree and more relaxed to get in front of the camera.
Can you smooth my skin and bring me in a little?
I like to keep a more natural edit. I remove pimples and anything that is not long term when it comes to the skin. I do basic retouching. If you wish for me to go further in the editing process, you will have to upgrade your package to the deluxe style editing. Includes-skin smoothing, eye enhancement, bringing you in 2-4 sizes, scars, etc.
What is your Cancellation policy?
The more time the better! If you know minimum 2 days before your scheduled shoot that would be great. I understand that things come up and out of our control. But communication is key in these situations. If you need to reschedule less than 2 days prior to your photoshoot, a fee may be applied.
Can I get my deposit back?
All deposits are non refundable. Deposits are put in place to ensure effort towards your photoshoot. Time, energy, shopping around, etc all have a price. I have calculated a reasonable deposit.
When should I schedule my newborn’s photoshoot?
The best time is 5-15 days old. This is a good time frame to get all those cute poses and sleepy looks all bundled up.
When should I schedule my maternity photoshoot?
Sometimes baby’s can make a surprise entrance to this world. We may have a due date but when a baby is ready, they are ready. I say listen to your body. A good time frame that I have recognized in my experience is between 33-37 weeks.
